2. Lawn spreaders make fertilizing and seeding an easy task. A seed or fertilizer moderator is needed to make sure the spread pattern is even and appropriately dense.
4. Smaller, manual home lawn spreaders will likely distribute seed unevenly because the speed you are walking dictates how fast it spins. With an electric lawn spreader, this is not a concern.
6. This doesn't mean you can't get any job done with an electric leaf blower. Nickel-cadmium batteries can pump out about 120 mph force, which does most jobs. But these last about 15 minutes and require 3 hours to charge. If you've got a large job, you're going to need a couple of batteries.
8. Understand that electric lawn equipment is often not as powerful as gas powered gear. Batteries, too, can be a hindrance if you have a huge job. But for normal use that doesn't involve hours of trimming and thick branches, we find electric trimmers and edgers have the edge over gas.
10. And before you go, consider a common-sense garden cart for your gardening needs. Whether it's carrying gear to your work site or carrying lawn waste from it, the garden cart is a must have and a real time saver.
